Tactair Fluid Controls Wins T-6A Texan II Nose Wheel Steering Contract

Tactair Fluid Controls Inc. announces the award of two contracts totaling approximately $4 million from Hawker Beechcraft Corporation (HBC) to continue providing Tactair designed and manufactured nose wheel steering servo actuators for the T-6A Texan II.

Tactair has been the supplier of the master cylinder brake control system since the inception of the T-6A program in 1999. In response to the need for improved reliability and mission readiness, Tactair designed and qualified a more robust nose wheel steering servo actuator and became the actuator supplier in late 2003. Under the terms of the recent awards, Tactair will deliver over 300 nose wheel steering servo actuators to HBC during 2008 and 2009.

The T-6A Texan II is the U.S. Air Force and Navy aircraft of choice for the Joint Primary Aircraft Training System (JPATS) mission. HBC won the JPATS competitive procurement by providing a complete training system that increased training capabilities, improved safety, and increased reliability and maintainability.
